The 50 pfennig note illustrates the S.M.S. Emden- one of the most legendary battleships of the German Navy in
WW1
.
It sank or
captured
30 Allied vessels, ground British trade in the Far East to a standstill and terrorized the port towns!
The backside depicts the city's magnificent Town Hall.
The 25 Pfennig note depicts an 18th Century Galleon before the skyline of Emden on the front.
The backside illustrates "Um alten hafentor" which translates to "The old port gate."

condition!  Also of interest, paper has watermark lines which can CLEARLY be seen when held up to a light.  Wonderful notes with no creases or bends with the largest measuring about 2¹/2 inches by 4 inches.
