Several years ago one of our dealers found an old restaurant in
China
that was closing down and selling everything in the old building.  Included in the sale were many of these
old
hand
painted
wall
tiles
.  He bought them ALL.  Then we bought them all from Him.
There are four different designs (see the others we have listed).  We call THIS one the "two dragons" design.
You'll notice we have some of these tiles listed that are NOT cleaned up.  Those are for clients who want them in AS FOUND condition.  But
THIS tile
is one that I
DID
(partially) clean up.
I didn't TOUCH the round center portion with the dragons, but I DID clean the white border and give it a fresh coat (Rust-Oleum "Canvas" color.....which is an off-white shade) of paint . You will see the old nail holes and slight fraying around the edges but that's why we clean the borders and give them a fresh coat of paint.  (because these are very dirty and dusty when we get them and the borders are yellowed with age).  THAT said, I don't clean the painted portions.  YOU could if you wanted to and were careful about it, but I leave that for you to decide.
One can only IMAGINE the time it took to paint each one of these.  The tile you see is the EXACT tile you will receive.
This tile measures 18" x 18"
.  Very ornate with two dragons facing off.
You can display it as is or have it framed.
