DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION:
HUGO AWARD winning Sci-Fi & Fantasy artist, George Barr is a prolific & prodigious Sci-Fi and Fantasy illustrator, whose painstaking, intricate & whimsical artwork can be found on any number of book covers, interior pages, fanzines, computer games, and other commercial formats.
This vintage 1974 fantasy poster depicts a whimsical dragon leaning on the castle tower ledge where a Princess appears irate with the tiny knight about to attempt to slash the tail of the gargantuan horned dragon.
George Barr created a full color version of this same poster imagery for the front cover of Marion Zimmer Bradley's FANTASY Magazine in 1989 (issue Volume 2, Number 1).
George Barr is now 81 years old and living in CA, where he continues to write Sci-Fi and Fantasy short stories, although due to an eye condition, no longer produces artwork.
Printed in Salt Lake City in 1974 at Vanguard Graphics, in a print run of 1,000 copies, the poster never received widespread national distribution, and is rarely seen today -- The poster is in excellent condition, with no creases, rips or markings.
There are a few extremely light (difficult to spot) stains along the bottom edge as shown in the photos.
