    Description

    Cunard Line: A 3" tall barrel-shaped candlestick made from the teak decking of the 1907 MAURETANIA.
    So popular was the beloved MAURE that her shipbreakers sold thousands of souvenirs made from her deck wood while scrapping her in 1935.
    A little brass plaque reads, "From the decking of the MAURETANIA, The Old Lady of the Atlantic". I'm sure the ship herself would have preferred the more common "Grand Lady of the Atlantic" but nonetheless it is a wonderful souvenir that someone cherished for decades.
