Condition:
I bought this sign on eBay in 2007 and never got to display it. The original seller said it was from
the late 1800's. It comes with no provenance, but it looks like it's from the 1800's in its design, font, and use of the word "lavatory."
Yes, I did look it up on the internet, and they said that "lavatory" was more commonly used in the 19th century. It is considered very formal and rare usage now.
The condition around the edges shows its age and wear, but it still would display spectacularly in a bathroom and
encourage those messy guests (and children) (and husband) (okay, wife and partner, too) of yours to keep the bathroom clean.
Unless of course,
"as you would wish to find it" means to them "messy." Let's hope not.
