Vintage Advertising Proof Illustration by Harry Kane 1950-60s Beer Ad Retro ArtHarry Kane left behind a wonderful body of work, one that became the mirror in which families back in the 1950's and 60's saw themselves through and we we still see them today. His style is recognizable, he could do a cartoon scene just as well as he could do an ultra realistic portrait.
When Harry returned from WWII he found his job was no longer waiting for him, so he began taking freelance jobs. He did work for Seagrams, Schlitz beer, Calso Gasoline Company, Phillip Morris and much more. In the mid-1960s Random House hired Harry to work on a new set of children's books called Alfred Hitchcock and The Three Investigators.
This piece is possibly one made for Seagrams or Schlitz beer. I have only only of these.
Little is know about Harry Kane outside of his body of work and his pieces are very collectible by many.
Acquired this lot at auction, it was all inside a enveloppe From Simmons-Beal Inc Advertising Photography Company in NYC.
All the sheets measure 10 x 9" and are printed in the era's glossy photo paper.
More will be listed soon.
